Moving to Las Vegas? Las Vegas New Resident Information
When you are moving to Las Vegas, you can expect it to be an exciting time in your life. Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital and is one of the top vacation spots in the world.
When you move to Las Vegas, new residents can enjoy shopping at the best shops such The Forum Shops at Ceasars, Bellagio Atrium, Fashion Show and The Grand Canal Shoppes, world-class level dining in five star restaurants and nightlife entertainment that can only be found in Las Vegas.
Also when moving to Las Vegas, new residents can find a sophistication and lifestyle that few cities can match. But it is not just the nightlife that makes new residents call Las Vegas home, Las Vegas is a beautiful place to live.
With mild winters and a yearly average of over 320 sunny days a year, new residents moving to Las Vegas find they can leave behind the cold, dark winters. The Las Vegas area is in a valley surrounded by majestic mountain areas such as Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston and with the rugged areas of beauty surrounding Lake Mead.
When you want to enjoy the outdoors to go hiking, biking or have a picnic, then you must visit Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon is only 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Not far from Red Rock Canyon is Spring Mountain State Park, another beautiful place to visit just outside of town.
Love snowboarding and skiing? Then check out Lee Canyon on Mount Charleston. Mount Charleston is often as much as 20 degrees cooler in the summer than Las Vegas when looking for a perfect place to have a picnics or hike the hiking trails. Mount Charleston is a perfect setting for a getaway vacation home. Mount Charleston is only 35 miles from the downtown Las Vegas strip.
About 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada will bring you to Lake Mead. Lake Mead was formed by water held in at Hoover Dam and became the largest man-made lake. At Lake Mead you can enjoy fishing, boating, water skiing, scuba diving or swimming.
Nevada was called Silver State for a reason and prospecting is a hobby that many residents in Las Vegas area still enjoy. While they may be hunting those gold nuggets with metal detectors now, the challenge is still there and old mines are a part of the history of the State of Nevada.
If golf is your favorite form of exercise, then walking some of the many beautiful golf courses will keep you fit. New residents to Las Vegas are delighted with the many golf courses all over the Las Vegas valley. Map of Las Vegas Golf Courses
